How do dentists protect themselves from excessive radiation?

Is overexposure to X-rays a concern for the workers?

What is done for workers who are overexposed to radiation? How do dentists protect themselves from excessive radiation?
Watch, they walk out of the room while your X-Rays are being taken.
I think dentists dosent take the x rays. The x ray are taken by a radiologist. The x ray can harm the human body. The x ray has the greater penetration power than the infra red and ultra violet rays.

X-ray radiation is very dangerous in high dose. There are two syndromes caused by x-ray exposure. First is acute syndrom with diarrhea, edema, lesions of skin, mouth and bowel mucosa, fatigue, flulike symptoms. Second is long term syndrome with infertility, hair lost and malignancies.

The radiologist is frequently subjected to x rays so he shuld have some protection over his body.

X-ray aprons play a vital role in protecting people from harmful radiation that is given off from x-ray equipment. Many people are familiar with wearing aprons when they have an x-ray done but what they don't realized is that these aprons also play a large role in a physicians work. When physicians are performing operations that constantly need to take x-ray's during the procedure. Since time is so crucial the x-ray image must be taken while the physician is still in the room.

Remaining in the room while the image is being taken leaves the doctor at significant risk since their bodies will absorb just as much radiation as the patient. This might not pose a problem for the patient because the patient will only be exposed to this amount of radiation once or twice in their entire lifetime. However, this is not the case for physicians who are performing these procedures on a weekly basis.

Physicians are usually aware of the harmfulness of extended radiation exposure however they are not always educated on how to protect themselves from these harmful x-rays. The most important part of a physicians apparel during a surgery is the x-ray apron that they wear. This apron is the last line of defense for them before the x-rays enter their bodies. Doctor's should know that the standard protection for aprons is .5mm equivalency. At this equivalency these x-ray aprons absorb around ninety six percent of the harmful radiation that the doctor will be surrounded by.

X-ray aprons are typically made from lead because of its naturally high density factor. This high density gives the x-ray aprons their protective properties. X-rays have a difficult time penetrating the lead, which prevents the radiation from ever entering the physicians body. Patients often underestimate the harm that can come from radiation exposure, which is fine since they are typically not at high risk since they receive such little exposure. However, for a physician to make this mistake has quite severe consequences. How do dentists protect themselves from excessive radiation?
Protective Radiation Uniform, Gloves and Glasses
dentists don,t do x ray work. lab techs do. they go into a lead lined room, and may wear a lead lined vest. How do dentists protect themselves from excessive radiation?
They completly leave the room and then take x-rays
ball sack. maybe u should get one
