What type of radiation do wifi routers emit?

I have heard from different sources that wifi routers emit electromagnetic radiation and microwave radiation. I dont mind the EM radiation because my body is tolerant to it, but microwave radiation is dangerous to everyone. Does anyone know what type of radiation is emmited from wireless routers?

Umm.. microwave radiation is an electromagnetic wave as well? And how can your body be tolerant? It's a fricking wave. EM waves can ionize/give energy to electrons. Unless you are wearing a metal suit 24/7 or you are made up of special atoms which stay at ground state all the time (which, btw, is impossible), you cannot be "tolerant".

And wifi routers emit microwaves. Now don't think of your microwave ovens because they use microwaves at a certain frequency which heats up water molecules, and your routers certainly don't emit these. However, the radiation from your routers may or may not cause harm. It's the same old hearsay thing with the mobile/cell phones causing cancer etc. We don't know for sure if it is harmful. There is some speculation about how in the long term, periodic exposures to microwaves may increase chances of cancer. We don't know for sure. What type of radiation do wifi routers emit?
Wifi (home routers) typically run radio waves in the 2.4Ghz frequency range, a few also run 5.8Ghz. 2.4Ghz is the same frequency band that microwave ovens use to cook things like "meat". However, wifi is generally 10,000 times weaker in signal, so "most" places say it is safe.

My comment is, use common sense. Don't put the wireless router on your nightstand by your bed (2 feet from your head all night long....) Otherwise, there are no major concerns at this time. However, remember when smoking was considered "safe" back in the 1930's to 1960's? It takes 20-30 years for studies to show any real ill effects from anything, and wifi has not been around that long in most homes (hence "common sense" makes sense)

I run about 2 or 3 wifi routers in my house 24/7 - but place them not to close to where people sit all the time...just to be sure...
