What type of radiation escapes black holes and are there some examples of it on earth?

i read in a brief history of time that stephen hawking proved in the mid-70s that black holes emit a small amount of radiation, and so must be losing mass. what type of radiation is it? are there similar types present on earth? can you give an example? What type of radiation escapes black holes and are there some examples of it on earth?
Hi. Hawking Radiation is formed by the capture of one part of a particle/anti-particle pair by a black hole's event horizon. This condition does not exist anywhere near Earth, so there are no examples.
The energy that escapes a black hole is called Hawking Radiation.

It arises because virtual particles pop into existence in the quantum mechanical reality of subatomic particles. They exist as particle - anti-particle pairs. This happens all the time, throughout all space. The pairs recombine after a very small time and disappear. Near a black hole event horizon, the pair can pop into existence and one partner will get sucked into the black hole and the other one will escape by quantum tunneling to the outside of the event horizon. Only near a black hole event horizon can that happen. So black holes do lose mass over time due to radiating energy in the form of Hawking's radiation. Eventually the black hole will "evaporate" completely. What type of radiation escapes black holes and are there some examples of it on earth?
It's been named Hawking Radiation. Basically no net matter can be created, only converted from something else. Stephen Hawking showed that in the turbulence around a black hole a particle and its anti-particle would spontaneously be created (no net gain = 0), but sometimes the anti-particle would be recaptured and the particle would escape. This would give the black hole a negative mass gain %26amp; release the particle as radiation that, theoretically, could be spotted %26amp; measured.

One of the experiments planned @ CERN is to create these particles. As there won't be a black hole to swallow the particles, they will just self destruct as unstable or if they re-collide with each other.

Light is a form of radiation, but the radio waves that allow you to listen to music are invisible to your eyes. The radiation from a black hole is invisible to our eyes %26amp; needs special equipment to be seen. Also "all mass gives off some form of light" is wrong. Asteroids don't give off radiation (usually), but they doo reflect light. Black holes create radiation, but they reflect nothing.
Hawking radiation, EM radiation(radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultra violet, x-rays and gamma rays), all kinds of particles when they evaporate! What type of radiation escapes black holes and are there some examples of it on earth?
You are thinking of Bekenstein-Hawking radiation=

I think it is the gamma ray that emitting from the black hole.
X-Rays.
