hi. Wll i am planning to go to university this following septemeber. I want to go into radiation therapy. The university of Toronot has a joint program with michner but the site is not clear on wut average i need to get into the Medical Radiation Sciences offered at U of T.
do u guys know? What average doi need to get into Medical Radiation Sciences in the University of Toronto?
That's a "second-entry" program, meaning that you need to have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies at a university before applying for admission. During your undergraduate year(s), they require that you take at least one course each in Biology, Mathematics, and Physics, and have at least a "B-" grade point average.
More info on the application process can be found here: http://www.michener.ca/ft/rad_therapy_dd鈥?/a>
If you're still in high-school, your first step would be to get into a Science program at any university (this program is open to non-UofT applicants as well). Most Science programs require at least an 80s average to get in. After completing the required courses (which are typically part of the first-year Science program repertoire), you can then apply to the Radiation Therapy program.
From what I've heard, it's a really good program with a good mix of theory, practical instruction, and on-site placement opportunities at various clinics. The job prospects of this line of work also seems quite favourable.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
